ZEKūYA is the artistic expression of Chris Etscheid as he illuminates original songs of self love and healing to the world. Of mixed Filipino & Caucasian heritage, ZEKūYA blends global inspiration, a trained music background and a deep personal journey of triumph over trauma into impactful lyrics and a unique sound. ZEKūYA is a dynamic artist whose engagement with wellness communities and artistic and social groups over the past decades profoundly enriches his creative expression. ZEK has performed internationally from stage to screen as a solo vocalist, with acclaimed groups such as GMCLA and as a founding member of Kings Road A Cappella. Driven by a passion for community and advocacy, ZEK also co-developed The Alive Music Project, delivering anti-bullying messages in schools, promotes initiatives for the Queer Moment artist collective, and dedicates his time to various non-profit organizations, all of which inform ZEKūYA’s unique artistic perspective.
